Berlanga and Reséndiz are in talks for a fight

28-year-old Puerto Rican Edgar Berlanga and 26-year-old Mexican José Armando Reséndiz are in negotiations for a fight, The Ring insider Mike Coppinger reports.

The bout in the super middleweight division (168 lbs / 76.2 kg) could take place in the first quarter of 2026.

In July, Edgar Berlanga (23-2, 18 KO) was stopped by Hamzah Sheeraz in the fifth round. Berlanga has suffered two defeats in his last three fights.

José Armando Reséndiz (16-2, 11 KO) last stepped into the ring in May, when he defeated Caleb Plant by split decision.
