WBC Light Heavyweight champion and former Saul Alvarez challenger David Benavidez shared his view on who he sees as the favorite in the fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, who will battle for the undisputed Super Middleweight championship.
"I don’t like it only because Terence Crawford is moving up three weight classes. I don’t want to say he can’t do damage — of course he can. He’s very technical. He’s a great fighter. But sometimes three weight classes is just too much, like if I decided to move up now to fight… Anthony Joshua? Yeah, Anthony Joshua or the Gypsy King. I mean, I believe I could win if I don’t get hit. But if I do, you know… you’ve got to worry. That’s how I look at it. But I don’t know. We’ll see. You never want to underestimate Terence Crawford, but weight classes exist for a reason" , said Benavidez.
The showdown between Terence Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) and Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) will take place on September 13 in Las Vegas, USA.
