Former world champion Brit Amir Khan claimed there was a period in his career when he could have beaten both Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
“The version of me that fought Marcos Maidana, I would 100% have beaten Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao. I realized that because they never wanted to fight me. That’s why those fights never happened. That night, I would’ve beaten them all.
My days in sport are over, and I think it’s time to give others a chance and let them shine. I had a great career — I fought the best, I won and I lost, but I made a name for myself in this sport. Young fighters should look up to me.
One thing I can say: I don’t regret anything I gave to sport, to boxing, to my career. All my steps, all my decisions — it was God’s plan,” said Khan.
Amir Khan hasn’t fought since the winter of 2022, when he suffered a stoppage loss to Kell Brook. He fought Marcos Maidana in 2010 — Khan won by decision, 114–114 and 113–112.
