Glanton’s style is all about constant aggression, pressure, and power punches. At 180 cm, he isn’t the biggest cruiserweight. So, Brandon compensates by relentlessly pressing forward and forcing his opponents into a brawl.

The American is clearly not the most technical boxer. His game is built on fighting up close, landing heavy shots, and pinning his opponent to the ropes or in the corners.

Billam-Smith has more skills in his arsenal. Chris can box from distance and keep his opponent at bay with the jab. But he’s also not afraid when the fight turns into a slugfest.

The fighters are nearly the same age. Billam-Smith is 34, Glanton is 33. But Chris has already seen everything in the cruiserweight division.

He lost a prospect clash against Richard Riakporhe — and later avenged that defeat. He became a champion. He fought and defeated opponents who were favored against him. He participated in a unification bout.

The tough fights Glanton has had simply don’t compare.

Expect a high number of punches in this fight. That’s entirely down to Glanton’s style — all he does is press and attack. Billam-Smith may try to box more economically and pick his shots, but it’s unlikely he’ll get much chance to conserve energy against Brandon.

For Billam-Smith, this is a comeback after defeat. In 2024, he first beat Richard Riakporhe, forcing him to move up to heavyweight. Then, he lost in a unification bout against Gilberto Ramirez.

Glanton also fought twice in 2024 — and had great success, winning both fights inside the distance.

Both are explosive fighters. Glanton’s punches have repeatedly hurt opponents, and Billam-Smith will need to be extremely cautious.

Chris clearly carries power himself. At this level and weight, both men can punch. But Glanton’s power looks like his biggest advantage in this matchup.

This goes hand in hand with the previous point. Billam-Smith can take a punch well. He also has a size advantage and knows how to avoid clean shots.

The key factor is that Glanton has never faced anyone at this level before. And if Chris doesn’t get reckless, it won’t be easy for Brandon to land something decisive.

While Glanton is used to traveling and fighting in different countries, this will be his first bout in the UK.

For Billam-Smith, it will also be his first time fighting at Tottenham Arena. But it’s still a home fight for him — and much simpler psychologically than for Glanton, who faces a British favorite in London.

Billam-Smith is coming off a loss but is far from finished. That’s why he’s been given a physically strong, aggressive, but not elite opponent.

Yes, this is a huge opportunity for Glanton. Yes, one clean shot could flip his entire career trajectory. But the task ahead of him is tough.

Chris wants to return to winning ways. To get back in the mix and fight for titles in a division currently dominated by only a few serious names — Ramirez and Opetaia. And to do that, he must deal confidently with an opponent like Glanton.
