"We’re Preparing Sweets and Cakes for Fury." An Exclusive Interview with Oleksandr Usyk About His New Camp

Two-time undisputed world champion and co-founder of Ready to Fight, Oleksandr Usyk, gave an exclusive interview where he talked about his participation in a tournament in Monaco, his preparation for Tyson Fury, and the predictions from his opponent's camp. He shared insights on when his training camp begins, his thoughts on Turki Alalshikh's remarks about Fury, and much more.

On the Charity Race Organized by the Princess of Monaco's Foundation

"Am I afraid someone might say I’m wasting my time? No, I’m not. Everything I do, I do to better myself. Whether it’s playing football, riding pedal boats, running, swimming, or jumping—it’s all about developing myself as an athlete.

This is also the start of training camp, of course. The distance we covered was incredible. Personally, it taught me a lot. At one point, I felt awful—my legs were shaking, my body trembled, and I was a bit dehydrated. But we pushed through, we made it, and we’ll keep pushing even further.

Thank you to the Princess. This is important to me, my team, and my country. What I’m doing now is not only to improve myself, but also to uplift my country."

Training Camp for the Rematch

"We’re heading to the training camp next. I learned a lot from my last fight with him (Fury). Many things I saw in the ring, I never noticed while watching on TV. We will prepare even better, and God willing, we will show our form once again.

I’m not worried about Tyson trying to back out of the fight. We are already playing on our side with our ball. I have a contract, and he has a contract—we are obligated to fight by December 31st.

I love that we’re aiming for December 21st. It’s a good date, a good month. If he doesn’t fight by December 21st, he’ll lose dividends, money, and he’ll also break his word as a man.

We will do everything in the training camp to present the best version of Oleksandr Usyk. Am I speaking about myself in the third person? Yes, I’ll do everything to be in my best shape once again.

Will there be any surprises for Fury? Oh yes, we’re preparing sweets, cakes, everything for our friend. We’ll treat him to delicious cakes and sweet embraces."

What Motivates You Before the Rematch, Considering Your Professional Achievements

"I have incredible motivation. People ask me this a lot—what’s next? Well, there’s nothing next. We just work every day. Every day is a new day.

I’m motivated by my team, my family, my faith in God, my country, my wife, my children. Everything around me that grows with me, everything I love—that motivates me.

I fear nothing except God. And I fear Him because I love Him."

On Negative Predictions from Fury’s Camp and Turki Alalshikh

"I want to say to all those people—I’m very grateful to you for this motivation, very grateful that you support your athlete. I’m very thankful because through what you’re doing, I’m becoming stronger.

Thank you very much."
