American boxer Ryan Garcia has confirmed that his fight with Jake Paul will not happen. However, Garcia said he had been ready to step into the ring with the YouTuber-turned-Heavyweight competitor.
“It’s not my fault that I couldn’t fight Jake Paul. I would’ve fought him, and then had a real fight in February. I’ve been preparing for a while.
Everything’s fine – those driven by bad intentions never win in the end,” Ryan wrote.
Paul was originally scheduled to face Gervonta Davis on November 14 in the United States, but the bout was canceled after Davis was accused of assaulting a woman.
Jake is now seeking a replacement opponent and plans to return to the ring in December. Among the potential names mentioned were Francis Ngannou, Anthony Joshua, and others, though it was later reported that Ngannou declined the fight.
