Wilder: “Usyk is Considered the Greatest in History in Ukraine”

Deontay Wilder, Oleksandr Usyk / Sky Sports

Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder responded to a question about whether he considers three-time undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk to be the greatest boxer of all time.

“I don't think he's the greatest of all time.

Everyone who says that is probably his fan. They have to say that. These are his people. Probably many people from Ukraine say that, but besides them, very few people say it. But a lot of people don't understand boxing.

A lot of fans don't know what they're looking at and seeing. They don't know the structure, the basics, the real things you have to do in this business to hold a certain position, make fights, etc.,” Wilder said.

Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) received a challenge for a fight from Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) and, according to the American himself, has held several negotiations with the Ukrainian's team.
