Next month, The Ring will unveil its new event series titled The Underdog, designed to regularly showcase promising contenders, talented prospects, and occasionally overlooked champions in specially crafted 50-50 style matchups.
The cards will be streamed on DAZN, with monthly shows beginning in January 2026.
“The Underdog is about giving fans what they want: competitive, unpredictable fights that spotlight the next generation of stars. September’s teaser is just a prologue to what’s coming. Starting next January, fans will get must-see monthly shows,” said The Ring CEO Rick Reno.
The series will debut on September 11 during fight week for Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford in Las Vegas, USA.
The main event will feature WBO Flyweight champion Anthony Olascuaga (9-1, 6 KOs) defending against challenger Juan Carlos Camacho (19-1, 8 KOs).
The undercard lineup includes:
Justin Viloria (9-0, 7 KOs) vs. Josafat Ortiz (13-1, 6 KOs), Super Featherweight (59 kg);
Jahmal Hackett (9-1, 7 KOs) vs. Elijah Vines (8-0, 7 KOs), Junior Middleweight (69.9 kg);
Emiliano Alvarado (8-0, 5 KOs) vs. Juan Garcia (7-0, 2 KOs), Super Bantamweight (55.3 kg);
Jamar Talley (3-0, 3 KOs) vs. Isaiah Thompson (11-4-2, 10 KOs), Cruiserweight (90.7 kg).
