Zach Parker – After Buatsi: “I Was Supposed to Change My Daughter’s Life. Why Do Judges Do This?”

31-year-old British light heavyweight Zach Parker shared his emotions after the loss to Joshua Buatsi on November 1 in Manchester, where they headlined the evening.

“I won that fight easily. I’m furious, because every single person ringside said I won that fight.

He couldn’t touch me. He couldn’t land clean shots on me. I should have been the champion tonight.

I was supposed to move on to bigger, more lucrative fights — to change my daughter’s life. That’s why I box — to make life better. I was supposed to change my family’s life. And I’ve got another child on the way.

He couldn’t land a clean punch on me — he was just pushing me down. Maybe, maybe I could give him one round. You saw my timing and my movement — I was comfortable, and he couldn’t touch me.

Look at my reaction after the fight and look at his. His head was down. I knew I won.

Why do judges do this to people?” — Parker said.

Parker (26-2, 18 KO) lost by majority decision to Buatsi (20-1, 13 KO) in a bout for the WBA International title. Buatsi has stated he is ready to face the winner of David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde.

The official scorecards were released shortly after the fight.
