The fight between IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia (26-0, 20 KOs) from Australia and German veteran Huseyin Cinkara (22-0, 18 KOs) will no longer take place.
The bout, originally scheduled for January 8, has been called off after the 39-year-old Jinkara sustained an ankle injury that will sideline him from training for three months.
Reports indicate that Opetaia's team is still aiming to arrange a fight on the same date, with the opponent yet to be confirmed.
This comes amidst other recent changes in the boxing schedule, including the rescheduling of the Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman fight and the cancellation of the Dennis McCann vs. Peter McGrail bout, which was set to feature on the undercard of the Usyk vs. Fury rematch.
