Eddie Hearn: “We’re trying to contact Joshua, but he looks okay”

Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom Boxing and promoter of former heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, has commented on the car accident in Nigeria involving his fighter.

Hearn said he learned about the crash while on holiday and is now trying to get in touch with the British boxer.

“We are trying to contact Anthony and in the meantime we don't want to speculate on how he is but thankfully he appears OK from what I have seen in the images. We are awaiting more information on what has happened and will update in due course,” Hearn said.

On 29 December, Anthony Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) was involved in a car accident in Nigeria, in which two people were killed and the boxer himself was hospitalized. All currently known details of the incident can be found via the link.
