Ben Whittaker (6-0, 5 KOs) stays true to his promise to be significantly more active in 2024. The promising light heavyweight boxer (up to 79.3 kg) will return to the ring on March 31. He will fight in the undercard of the already announced bout for the British heavyweight title between Fabio Wardley (17-0, 16 KOs) and Frazer Clarke (8-0, 6 KOs). At this point, Whittaker's opponent remains unknown.
"For me, the key is activity. My goal this year is to become a household name. We wanted a higher-ranked fight and a ten-round bout, but this is just to get me in the ring at the start of the year. I want to have at least five fights in 2024, maybe even win a title by the end of the year and break into the rankings," Whittaker said for Boxing Scene.
The video of Whittaker's previous fight against Khalid Ghajji (10-14-5, 2 KOs) went viral.
"The reaction to Ben Whittaker's performance against Khalid Ghajji was incredible. It shows the power of social media. He gained hundreds of thousands of followers overnight, and there are videos online with millions of views. We knew from day one that we have a superstar in Ben Whittaker. With his style and personality, we believe he can become the biggest star in world boxing," said Ben Shalom, founder and CEO of BOXXER.
