WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) shared details about new training techniques introduced during his camp in preparation for his rematch against former champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).
“We’ve added many new elements to this training camp. Jakub Chycki is leading these efforts. We walk on our hands for 15 minutes to develop strength. We run, we swim. And we also stay underwater. We’ve reached a point where we can remain underwater for 10 minutes, and this helps me improve my physical condition, endurance, and breathing during the fight,” Usyk revealed.
To recap, on May 18, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury via split decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999. The highly anticipated rematch is set to take place on December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
