Xander Zayas — New WBO Super Welterweight Champion

On the night of 27 July at Madison Square Garden in New York, USA, the main event saw Puerto Rico’s Xander Zayas (22‑0, 13 KOs) face Mexico’s Jorge Garcia Perez (33‑5, 26 KOs) for the vacant WBO Super Welterweight title (up to 69.9 kg).

The bout went the full distance and ended in a unanimous decision for Zayas. The judges scored it 119–109, 118–110, and 116–112 for the Puerto Rican.

For the 22‑year‑old Zayas, this was his first victory in a title fight. He snapped Perez’s unbeaten run dating back to 2023—Jorge had won eight straight.
