WBC President Addresses Jaime Munguia Over Doping Scandal

World Boxing Council (WBC) President Mauricio Sulaimán issued a public statement directed at Mexican fighter Jaime Munguia, following the discovery of traces of a banned substance after his bout against Bruno Surace. More details [here].

“Unfortunately, when such a result occurs, many people rush to make unfounded conclusions without even the minimum amount of information. You deserve a full investigation without being accused before it’s completed.

The World Boxing Council considers you an honest and clean person, and I hope this situation will be clarified soon,” Sulaimán wrote in the comments under Munguia’s official statement.

The 28-year-old Munguia won the 12-round bout by unanimous decision: 117–111, 116–112, 117–111.
