Ukrainian heavyweight Viktor Vykhryst has announced that his January 10 bout will not take place.
Vykhryst (16-1, 10 KOs) was due to fight in Germany on the undercard of the clash between interim WBC heavyweight champion Agit Kabayel (26-0, 18 KOs) and Damian Knyba (17-0, 11 KOs).
“I don’t know why the organizers of the title fight had this mishap. On my side, I honored all the agreements. I’d been training and sparring for over a month and was ready for another challenge.
Of course, it’s frustrating, because all the preparation went down the drain. Nevertheless, I have to move on. I’m staying in Hamburg and will keep training. My promoters have promised that at the end of January or the beginning of February I will have my 18th fight in the professional ring,” Vykhryst said.
