Usyk Reveals When His Camp for the Fury Rematch Will Start

Two-time undisputed world champion and co-founder of Ready to Fight, Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), gave an exclusive interview in which he discussed the start of his preparation for the rematch with Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) and whether he is concerned that the British fighter might back out of the fight.

"We’re heading to training camp next. I learned a lot from the last fight with him (Fury). Many things I saw in the ring, I hadn’t noticed on TV. We will prepare even better, and God willing, we’ll show our form once again.

I’m not worried that Tyson might try to back out. We are already playing on our side with our ball. I have a contract, and he has a contract—we must fight by December 31 at the latest.

I really like that we’re preparing for December 21. It’s a good date, a good month. If he doesn’t fight on December 21, he’ll lose dividends, money, and break his word as a man.

We’ll do everything in training camp to present the best version of Oleksandr Usyk. Am I talking about myself in the third person again? Yes, I’ll do everything to be in my best shape once more.

Any surprises for Fury? We’re preparing sweets, cakes, everything for our friend. We’ll treat him to some delicious cakes and sweet hugs," Usyk said.

In May, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion (over 90.7 kg) in 25 years. The rematch is scheduled for December 21 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
