“It Would Be Interesting”: Usyk Weighs In on a Potential Fury–Joshua Showdown

Unified WBA, WBC, WBO & IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk shared his thoughts on a potential all-British clash between former world champions Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) and Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

I’d be keen to watch that fight. Anthony and Tyson are huge stars, not only in the UK but worldwide. I’d love to see them meet in the ring.

I don’t think Fury has retired. Tyson’s a crazy guy. Who wins? It’s a 50-50—totally even,” Usyk told Carl Froch.

In 2024 Tyson Fury lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk before announcing his retirement, yet he recently called out the Ukrainian for 18 April 2026 at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.

Anthony Joshua last boxed in September, when he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in round five. Joshua underwent hand surgery in May and plans to return in November or December this year.
