Tyson Fury: “Working very hard for this return”

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has spoken about how his boxing comeback is going.

“I’m just relaxing a bit before the second session of the day. I’m working very hard for this return. The Gypsy King is not taking this lightly at all.

I’ve read a few comments: ‘You look fat, with a belly, you’re out of shape.’ Welcome to my world. I’ve always been like that — beating everybody with a belly. It’s always been that way. I never used to bet on myself. Why would it matter today? Right now I’m about 20 stone (127 kg). I’ll probably drop to just under 19 (120.7 kg), maybe for the comeback. I’m really looking forward to it.

I’ve been out of the ring for a while, but now I’m back. And if I fight in the first quarter of the year, I could end up going up to 16 months without a bout. Yes, that’s a long time for a 37-year-old. I’ll turn 38 this year. We’ll see if I’ve still got it,” Fury said.

Earlier in January, Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) announced his return to the ring. The Briton last fought in December 2024, when he lost a rematch to Oleksandr Usyk by unanimous decision.
