Tony Bellew Names Ideal Opponent for Moses Itauma

Former world champion Tony Bellew has identified the best possible opponent for 20-year-old British Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma.

“Moses needs to go past six rounds. Nobody can back Moses in fights against top Heavyweights if he hasn’t gone more than six rounds yet.

I have no doubt about his class. I think he’s truly exceptional. But you never know how good he really is until he goes beyond six rounds.

I felt that Andy Ruiz would be the ideal opponent for him. I think Andy Ruiz throws enough punches. He comes to win. He’s not going to fall for anyone. In my opinion, that would be a really cool fight,” Bellew said.

On August 16, Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) defeated Dillian Whyte by first-round technical knockout.

Andy Ruiz (35-2-1, 22 KOs) last fought in August 2024, when he went to a draw against Jarrell Miller.
