Former world champion American Keith Thurman revealed when the agreement for the fight against WBC Super Welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora might be signed.
“The only reason why I am here, why I got to the level where I am now — is pure love and dedication to boxing. There is nothing better than being in the ring. I just want to make history and show myself as a true great fighter. This is my motivation.
Hopefully, within ten days — maximum two weeks we can announce a date. I was told something, but you know how it is in boxing. I treat this cautiously, but it reminds me to stay active, to train. This morning I had a good workout and am waiting for this announcement.
You will see this man fall again, like he has done already in his career. I will just come and bring big power. Power is the last thing to go. I have always been a knockout artist and I know that before I focused on technique and footwork — it was fun, but I got tired of it. So I am returning to punching power,” said Thurman.
Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) returned in 2025 after a three-year break, knocking out Brock Jarvis. The duel against Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) was initially planned for October 2025, but was postponed due to a hand injury sustained by Sebastian. It is expected that the meeting will take place in early 2026.
