Congolese Heavyweight Martin Bakole insists that elite fighters in the division are deliberately avoiding him. He believes the reason lies in the punishing sparring sessions he has had with them, which made them fully aware of his capabilities.
“Ask all of them why they avoid fighting me. Ask Anthony Joshua — he knows. Ask Dubois — I broke his nose twice. Ask Joe Joyce — I bashed his head in. Ask Parker — he knows too.
I sparred with Tyson Fury, Parker, Miller, and Adeleye during my preparation for Tony Yoka. Back then, I was like a real monster and gave them all tough rounds. They remember and say: ‘This guy? I’m not fighting him.’
That’s why, and it’s the plain truth. Ask them yourself if I’m lying. They’ll confirm it,” Bakole said.
The 33-year-old Bakole (21-2-1, 16 KOs) is winless in his last two outings: in February, he was knocked out by Joseph Parker, and in May, his fight with Efe Ajagba ended in a draw.
