Shakur Stevenson: “I Hope Turki Organizes the Fight with Lomachenko”

WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (22–0, 10 KOs) shared his thoughts on a potential clash with IBF and IBO champion in the same division, Vasyl Lomachenko (18–3, 12 KOs).

I’m not sure if the fight with Lomachenko will ever happen. He’s scared. We sparred once, and I think he’s been afraid of me ever since.

Top Rank will undoubtedly stand in the way, so I’m not holding my breath. But Turki Alalshikh has a lot of resources and can make big things happen. I hope he arranges our fight,” Shakur stated.

In July, Stevenson secured a unanimous decision win over Artem Harutyunyan. His next opponent will be Floyd Schofield on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Lomachenko stopped George Kambosos by 11th-round technical knockout in May. The IBF granted the Ukrainian boxer a medical exemption allowing him to keep his title while he undergoes a spinal examination, which will determine whether he can continue his career in 2025.
