Sanchez’s Manager on Dubois Fight: “I’m Cautiously Optimistic”

Frank Sanchez / Sky Sports

Mike Borao, co-manager of Cuban Heavyweight Frank Sanchez, shared his thoughts on the potential fight between his fighter and Britain’s Daniel Dubois.

Frank Sanchez has made it clear he’s ready to fight Dubois in the U.K., Saudi Arabia, or the U.S. — anywhere. For him, it’s not about the location, it’s about the victory.

You can never predict how negotiations will go until you’re fully in them, but it’s always a pleasure dealing with people who know the business — professionals like Frank and George Warren.

Sanchez is a boxer who blends technique and power, while Dubois is a pure puncher. Their styles almost guarantee an explosive, entertaining fight. At the same time, three top fighters have already turned down the eliminator with Frank, so I’m cautiously optimistic Daniel won’t be the fourth,” said Borao.

The IBF has sanctioned a Heavyweight eliminator between Frank Sanchez (25-1, 18 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs). The winner will become the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, currently held by the undisputed world champion Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs).

Previously, Filip Hrgovic, Efe Ajagba, and Moses Itauma all declined to face Sanchez. The fight was also offered to Richard Torrez Jr.
