Ryan Named His Most Desired Opponent — Not Rolando Romero

American boxer Ryan Garcia named the fighter he would like to face in the near future.

“I haven’t said this publicly, but I want a fight against Mario Barrios. I’m going to make that happen.

If you want to make good money, let’s do it. I can use that to then get a fight with Romero or Manny. If Pacquiao beats him, then I should fight him to unify the belts. I just know how money works,” said Garcia.

Ryan (24-2, 20 KOs) has not fought since May 2025, when he lost to Rolando Romero by decision. Barrios (29-2-2, 18 KOs) in his most recent bout fought to a draw with Manny Pacquiao. That was his second consecutive draw.
