Parker: “I Deserve a Chance to Fight the Winner of Usyk–Dubois”

Interim WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker shared his thoughts on the upcoming clash between Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk and Britain’s Daniel Dubois.

In Parker’s view, he—not anyone else—should meet the Wembley winner next.

I’d like the chance to fight someone. We’re here in England, about to watch Usyk face Dubois, and I feel I should be next. I’m the one who deserves the shot at the winner of that fight.

Did Daniel avoid a fight with me? He fell ill before our scheduled bout, and now he’s getting a chance to fight for the undisputed title. In my opinion, he should have faced me first,” Parker said.

Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) and Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) meet on 19 July at Wembley Stadium in London for the undisputed heavyweight championship. Full analytics and detailed statistics on the matchup are available at the link.

Joseph Parker (36-3, 24 KOs), the WBO mandatory challenger, was set to box Dubois in February, but the Briton withdrew due to illness.
