Another Cuban Eyes Canelo: Iglesias to Fight 4 September

IBO super-middleweight champion Osleys Iglesias has announced the date of his next bout—and confirmed it will double as an IBF final eliminator for the title held by undisputed champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.

“On 4 September I return to the ring in an IBF eliminator that will decide Canelo’s mandatory challenger.

The wait wasn’t my fault. Fighters in this division often avoid me and still call themselves the best. God protects me—His timing is perfect. I’m giving everything; the tornado is back,” Iglesias wrote.

The Cuban stopped Ukraine’s Petro Ivanov in his previous outing. Álvarez, meanwhile, next defends his crowns against Terence Crawford.
