Ortiz on Canelo–Crawford Favorite: “He’ll Catch Him Off Guard”

Interim WBC Super Welterweight Champion Vergil Ortiz shared his thoughts on the upcoming undisputed Super Middleweight clash between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

“I think Terence is too small. Gaining that weight and actually belonging in that weight class are two different things.

I’d understand if he were fighting someone of a smaller caliber, but we’re talking about Canelo. That guy is good. I think it’s going to be a clean win. Crawford gets hit — he takes shots like everyone else. Sometimes he gets caught really clean.

If Canelo hits you, that’s really bad no matter who you are. Canelo is fast. He’s not a slow puncher. He’ll catch you off guard,” Ortiz said.
