Rick Mirigian, manager of interim WBC Junior Middleweight champion Vergil Ortiz, has suggested an alternative scenario for Ortiz rather than moving directly into a fight with Jaron Ennis. Mirigian shared the idea in his Instagram Stories following Ortiz’s win over Erickson Lubin.
“I’m thinking Ortiz vs. Spence at Cowboys Stadium (the biggest Texas fight in history) and Charlo vs. Boots as the co-main event. Then the winners face each other,” Mirigian wrote.
In his previous bout, Ortiz scored a knockout over Erickson Lubin, and afterward agreed in the ring to face Jaron Ennis.
Ennis responded by promising to “make him pay” for the comments made by Ortiz’s team.
