Official: Erislandy Lara Gets a New Opponent After Alimkhanuly Withdraws

WBA Middleweight world champion, 42-year-old Cuban Erislandy Lara, has officially been given a new opponent for his December 6 fight. He will face 34-year-old Venezuelan Johan Gonzalez.

Lara was originally set to meet Janibek Alimkhanuly, but the Kazakh champion has withdrawn from the bout due to a failed doping test.

Lara vs Gonzalez will take place on the undercard of Cruz vs Roach. The same event will also feature Stephen Fulton vs O’Shaquie Foster and Ramos vs Mosley Jr..
