Nuñez Successfully Defends Title Against Díaz

On the night of September 7 in Los Mochis, Mexico, Eduardo Nuñez (29-1, 27 KOs) defended his IBF Super Featherweight title with a unanimous decision victory over American challenger Christopher Díaz (30-6, 19 KOs).

The bout went the full 12 rounds, with the judges scoring it 116-110, 117-109, 117-109 in favor of the champion.

Nuñez originally captured the belt in May with a decision win over Masanori Rikiishi. Earlier in April, Díaz had earned his shot by outpointing José Antonio Meza.
