British heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma spoke about his upcoming all-UK clash with Dillian Whyte and the impact of working with trainer Ben Davison.
“Camp is going well. Dillian Whyte is a serious opponent, no question. From the very start of my career every opponent has been a challenge, so with Whyte it still comes down to sticking to the game plan—like always.
Working with Ben Davison is something special. When I first came to him, he kept saying, ‘Deep down, you love boxing.’ At that moment I felt like I hated the sport, but he helped reignite that fire. He showed me boxing is so much more than just one-twos. This sport is a real chess match.”
Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) meets Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) on 16 August in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
