Morrell Defeats Khataev

On 11 July in Queens, USA, David Morrell met Imam Khataev in the ring.

The bout ended in a split decision: 95-94 for Khataev, and 96-93 and 95-94 for Morrell. In the fifth round, David was knocked down.

This fight marked Morrell’s return after his loss to David Benavidez. Khatayev was disqualified by the IBA before the fight due to doping. However, this decision only applied to International Boxing Association (IBA) tournaments. The organizers of this tournament did not comment on Imam's doping situation.
