Bektemir Melikuziev Defeats Fulghum in WBA Eliminator

On the night of May 31, at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, USA, a super middleweight bout (limit: 76.2 kg / 168 lbs) took place between American Darius Fulghum (14-1, 12 KOs) and Uzbekistan’s Bektemir Melikuziev (16-1, 10 KOs).

The fight went the full 12 rounds and ended in a unanimous decision victory for Melikuziev, with all three judges scoring it 114–112 in his favor.

With this win, Bektemir Melikuziev becomes the WBA mandatory challenger for the title currently held by undisputed super middleweight champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.
