The World Boxing Council (WBC) has announced that it has ordered a rematch between interim WBC Super Middleweight champion Christian Mbilli and Lester Martinez.
According to the WBC, the request was submitted by the Guatemalan’s team. The council unanimously approved the bout and will await the outcome of free negotiations.
Their previous fight took place on the undercard of Crawford vs. Canelo. Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) and Martinez (19-0-1, 16 KOs) went through ten furious rounds. The bout ended in a draw: 97-93 (Martinez), 96-94 (Mbilli), and 95-95.
