Subriel Matías Becomes the New WBC Champion at Super-Lightweight

On 11 July in Queens, USA, defending champion Alberto Puello put his WBC Super-Lightweight belt on the line against Subriel Matías.

The bout went the full twelve rounds and ended in a majority decision: 114-114 and two cards of 115-113 for Matías.

This is the first time Matías has won a fight on the judges’ scorecards.
