Malignaggi Explained Why a Joshua Knockout Benefits Jake

Paulie Malignaggi / Boxing Social

Former world champion and current boxing analyst, the American Paulie Malignaggi, believes that even a knockout loss to Anthony Joshua will benefit Jake Paul.

“Jake understands the requirements of the character he has created. The internet will explode if he gets knocked out. This is, in a way, a marketing genius move on the part of Jake Paul: I’ll give you the satisfaction of seeing me getting knocked out—it will probably quintuple his amount of views.

You have to have balls to hold your ground and fight Anthony Joshua. Joshua punches short and strong. It takes calmness, which is a skill and experience Jake doesn't have.

Is it better to fight like a kamikaze and impress the boxing fans, or run around and impress your YouTubers? Who does he want to impress—the boxers or the clowns?” said Malignaggi.

The fight between Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) and Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) will take place on December 19 in Miami, USA.
