Lopez Sr. on Crawford: "My Son Will Destroy Him"

In an interview with the YouTube channel PUNSH DRUNK BOXING, Teofimo Lopez Sr., the father of the WBO junior welterweight champion (up to 63.5 kg) Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs), commented on a potential fight between his son and the holder of the WBO, WBC, and WBA welterweight titles (up to 66.67 kg) Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs).

"I don't think Crawford wants to fight my son. That would end his career. My son will destroy him. Crawford thinks he's King Kong. Losing to my son would be a disgrace for him. He wouldn't be able to sleep at night. It would be a nightmare, it would be like he came back from Vietnam and saw all that shit you see during those wars. He would wake up in the middle of the night: 'Teo, where are you, Teo?'.

To me, Crawford is just like Mike Tyson. Remember when he said he's a scared old lion getting in the ring. Crawford is scared to death. You know why? He doesn't want to lose. He knows my son has a great chance to beat him and that's all they think about – losing. They don't want to lose. My son always goes after the best. He's here to fight the best.

Terence wants to go through three weight classes to fight Canelo. My son wants to change just one," said Teofimo Lopez Sr.

Teofimo Lopez last fought on February 8 in Las Vegas, USA, against Jamaine Ortiz (17-2-1, 8 KOs) and defended his title by unanimous decision.
