Kubrat Pulev: “We have no doping control ahead of the fight with Gassiev”

WBA World heavyweight titleholder Kubrat Pulev said there will be no pre-fight doping testing for his bout with Murat Gassiev.

“This needs to be controlled better because right now, to this day, we have no doping control ahead of this fight. That’s not right. Boxing has to remain a sport. Boxing has to be safe, not a war. When there’s no doping control, it’s bad and it’s no longer a sport — it’s a war. It must remain a sport, because that’s one of the most important things — we need high-quality doping control,” Pulev said.

Pulev (32-3, 14 KOs) will face Murat Gassiev (32-2, 25 KOs) on December 12 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event will be streamed on DAZN.
