Keyshon no longer working with McIntyre: ‘A whole new system’

Keyshawn Davis / Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Former WBO Lightweight world champion Keyshawn Davis discussed the changes in his preparation ahead of a potential return to the ring.

“I changed my whole team. Everybody I used to work with, I don't work with them anymore. Everything changed. Everybody got replaced.

It's a whole new team, whole new system,” said Davis.

Davis previously worked with Brian McIntyre, who responded to the end of his work with the boxer:

“To protect the integrity of the guy and his boxing career, I have no comment on the split. I wish him only the best,” Brian said.

Keyshawn won the belt with a stoppage victory over the Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk. The first defense of the belt was planned against Edwin De Los Santos, but the American failed to make weight. Subsequently, the bout was canceled, and Davis vacated the belt and announced that he would soon move up to a heavier division.

Keyshawn’s next fight has not yet been announced. There were rumors about the possibility of him returning to the ring on the undercard of the Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson fight on January 31 in New York, USA.
