Hamzah Sheeraz Names the Condition for a Fight with Canelo

British boxer Hamzah Sheeraz, 26, has spoken about the possibility of a fight against the undisputed Super Middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

“A fight with Canelo — it’s on the horizon. That bout will happen on the condition that he easily beats Crawford. And I believe that’s what will happen.

But at the same time, in the Super Middleweight division, among the top 10, there isn’t a single fight where you can confidently predict the winner. Every one of those fights is worth making.

For me, though, the ideal would be facing Canelo, because in today’s boxing landscape there’s a chance to step in against one of the greatest fighters in history. Why not throw down the challenge, take the risk, and give it everything?” said Sheeraz.

On July 12, Hamzah Shiraz (22-0-1, 18 KOs) stopped Edgar Berlanga in the fifth round.

On September 13, Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KOs) will defend his titles against Terence Crawford at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, USA. The fight will be broadcast by streaming service Netflix.
