Gervonta Davis Names the Best Opponent in His Career

American WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) has named fellow countryman Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) as the best opponent he’s ever faced.

"I would say Ryan Garcia is the best fighter. Without a doubt, we fed off each other's energy in the ring. We even talked during the fight. It was fun. I enjoyed every moment of it.

I just felt like I was a step, a level ahead of him. Everything he did in the ring, I already knew in advance. I was several steps ahead. So, for the most part, I stayed calm and let him make mistakes, then I countered," said Davis.

The fight between Gervonta and Ryan took place in April 2023 and ended with Davis winning by knockout in the 7th round.
