O’Shaquie Foster Decides to Keep WBC Super Featherweight Title

O'Shaquie Foster / Houston Chronicle

Representatives of the World Boxing Council (WBC) reported that 32-year-old American O’Shaquie Foster has made the decision to retain his WBC Super Featherweight title.

Thus, Foster has vacated the interim WBC Lightweight title, which he won on December 6 when he defeated Stephen Fulton by unanimous decision. It is also reported that O’Shaquie will retain “special privileges in the Lightweight division.”

To recall, the bout between O’Shaquie Foster (24-3, 12 KOs) and Stephen Fulton (23-2, 8 KOs) was initially supposed to take place for the WBC Super Featherweight title held by Foster, however, on the eve of the fight, Fulton failed the weigh-in. Afterward, the WBC announced that the fight would take place within the Lightweight limit for the organization’s interim title.
