Callum Smith and David Morrell Reach Agreement for Fight

British interim WBO Light Heavyweight champion Callum Smith and Cuba’s David Morrell have reached an agreement to stage their bout.

Earlier, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) sanctioned the fight and scheduled promotional bidding for December 4, but later announced it had received written confirmation from both sides that a deal had been reached. The date and venue will be announced later.

Callum Smith (31-2, 22 KOs) last fought in February, when he defeated Joshua Buatsi by unanimous decision.

In July, David Morrell (12-1, 9 KOs) beat Imam Khataev by split decision.
