British Journalist Believes Usyk and Fury Trilogy Has Become Closer

Sports journalist Gareth Davies explained why, in his opinion, the trilogy between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk looks like a real option.

Fury is in the spotlight now. There is a lot of buzz around him now, he wants to be on social media. He is telling us about himself again. I heard that Makhmudov could be a potential opponent.

I like the Fabio Wardley and Tyson Fury fight. A great opportunity for Fabio. Look at what he has done in his last four fights. He believes he can beat Fury. I think that Fury will beat him. But it is still a great fight.

You can see the path that awaits Tyson Fury. If he wins the WBO title, he can try to hold a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk. And, perhaps, this option is becoming more realistic, considering Anthony Joshua’s situation.

And if the Wilder and Usyk fight doesn't happen, there will be shifts there. So you understand why moving chess pieces around the board makes sense,” said Davies.

Fury left boxing in 2024, when he lost twice in a row to Oleksandr Usyk by judges' decisions. In 2026, Tyson announced his return.

It was planned that this year he could meet with Anthony Joshua. However, at the end of 2025, the Briton was involved in an accident, as a result of which two of his trainers died. At the moment, it is unknown what Joshua's plans are regarding the continuation of his career.
