“Scared of His Own Shadow.” Conor Benn Criticizes Haney’s Performance Against Norman

British welterweight Conor Benn shared his thoughts on the performance of newly crowned WBO champion Devin Haney in his fight against Brian Norman.

“In my opinion, it wasn’t a very good performance. Haney looked like he was scared of his own shadow. It seemed like he didn’t want to exchange at all.

He’s just happy to ‘steal’ rounds and ‘steal’ fights. There was no entertainment value for me, and this is show business. He puts people to sleep — and I’m not talking about knockouts,” Benn said.

On November 23, Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) defeated Brian Norman (28-1, 22 KOs) by unanimous decision.
