Conor Benn Reveals How Quickly He Planned to Knock Out Eubank in the First Fight

British junior middleweight Conor Benn explained what adjustments he made ahead of his rematch with IBO middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr.

“I shortened my camp to eight weeks, and I’m staying home. I want to feel the scale of the fight — I didn’t want to go away to another country.

This is nothing like last time, but I want to see my kids — even for just a couple of minutes. My son runs over saying: ‘Dad, can I go on the quad bike?’ or ‘Dad, are you sleeping here?’

I’ll see them from time to time, share those small moments — ‘Quick, come give me a hug.’ I run to hug my daughter. Why should I miss that?

Their faces when they see me — priceless. And I tell them: ‘Everything I do is for you.’

Last time, I was tense. I was like a volcano ready to explode — it was the first time I ever felt that before a fight. I genuinely thought I would knock him out in three or four rounds. When I said that, I wasn’t joking. That was the plan.”

In their first meeting, Eubank Jr. (35-3, 25 KOs) defeated Benn (23-1, 14 KOs) by decision.
