For the first time since the car accident that occurred in Nigeria in late 2025, former unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has publicly paid tribute to coaches Sina Gami and Latif Ayodele, who died in the crash.
“Thank you for all the love and care you showed my brothers. I didn’t even realize how special they were.
I would just walk with them and joke around, not even knowing that God kept me surrounded by great people. It is, of course, very difficult for me, but I know it is even harder for their parents.
I am strong in spirit and believe that God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers,” Joshua wrote on his social media.
Sina Gami and Latif Ayodele were killed in a traffic accident they were involved in along with Anthony Joshua. The former champion and the driver survived. The driver of the vehicle has been hit with four charges.
