Klitschko Wants Fury Rematch: Ex-Trainer Talks Potential Comeback

James Ali Bashir, former coach of Wladimir Klitschko, has spoken about the possibility of the 49-year-old Ukrainian heavyweight legend making a surprise return to the ring.

“I spoke to Wladimir around 8–9 days ago. It seems like he’s waiting to see what happens next with Usyk. Klitschko still has the desire to return to the ring and face Tyson Fury before officially closing out his career. He wants that fight,” said the American trainer.

Klitschko last fought in 2017, retiring after a memorable loss to Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium. He had previously faced Tyson Fury in November 2015, suffering a unanimous decision defeat in a major upset that ended his long reign as heavyweight champion.
