WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs) has ended his partnership with Matchroom Boxing, according to insider Dan Rafael.
Per the report, Stevenson has brought in veteran promoter Lou DiBella to lead his promotional efforts for the upcoming clash with interim WBC champion William Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs), scheduled for July 12 in New York City.
DiBella is expected to oversee team operations, handle logistics behind the scenes, and likely serve as the media liaison in the lead-up to the fight.
Previously, several high-profile bouts were announced for the undercard of the Stevenson vs. Zepeda showdown, further elevating the event’s status as one of the summer’s most anticipated cards.
